Just because we have floods, etc., I will still expect ALL students to do their homework on time because you all know you and your parents are always expected to check my blog to see if there is homework. The school has also updated their website and Facebook page, warning students to check the blogs, do homework, etc.
UPDATE: ALL STUDENTS WHO MISS MY CLASS DUE TO THE FLOOD WILL BE EXPECTED TO WRITE AN ESSAY (minimum 3 singled-spaced typed pages) TO EXPLAIN WHY THEY COULD NOT COME TO SCHOOL, HOW MUCH FLOODING OCCURRED IN THEIR AREA, HOW THEY DEALT WITH THE FLOOD (preparations beforehand, what they did during the flood, etc.), HOW THEY FELT BEFORE AND DURING THE FLOOD, WHAT THEY/THE GOVERNMENT COULD HAVE DONE BETTER AND WHAT THAILAND COULD DO TO STOP THE FLOOD FROM HAPPENING AGAIN. This is what we will discuss in class and will go towards your participation mark. If you don’t come to school, you cannot complain about this because you will have from 7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. to write this essay at home while other students are at school. You will also have to come in at recess to write the test/quiz that you missed. You will also need to continue to check my blog to do other homework that you miss.
Grade 7 Students (G6 students will be after this),
1. You should complete the two Food Log handouts I gave you by October 31st.
2. And you will continue to keep a food log until Nov. 7th! (I told you that this would be a two week project! It must be printed out and handed to me on Nov. 8 or 9, depending on when you have my class.) Lateness = lost points!
3. Above the homework section on the front page of my blog, click on Grade 7 Flood Homework to Prepare for a New Test on Nov. 8 or Nov. 9 and complete everything that I have listed there. Follow my instructions exactly because we will have a test on this material as soon as we get back!
4. Also check the post below this one to see if you still owe me anything. Everyone owes me the 3-D project!
5. Check this space again on Nov. 1st in the afternoon or evening because I may have more announcements after I go to school in the morning and meet with Mr. Ray and the other teachers.
This is what Wells and the government is requiring teachers to do thanks to the worst flood in decades. THERE WILL BE A TEST ON THE FIRST DAY WE RETURN TO SCHOOL TO MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE DONE THIS HOMEWORK!
Grade 6 Students,
1. Above the homework section on the front page of my blog, click on Grade 6 Flood Homework to Prepare for a New Quiz on Nov. 8 or Nov. 9 and complete everything that I have listed there. Follow my instructions exactly because we will have a test on this material as soon as we get back! Lateness = lost points!
2. Also check the post below this one to see if you still owe me anything.
3. You must check this spot again in the AFTERNOON or EVENING of Nov. 1st because I will go into school to meet with Mr. Ray and the rest of the teachers. Therefore, I may have more announcements for you so come back here and see!
Remember that you must do all of this homework and that it will be due on the first day you return to school (probably Nov. 8th). This is what Wells and the government is requiring teachers to do thanks to the worst flood in decades.
THERE WILL BE A QUIZ ON THE FIRST DAY WE RETURN TO SCHOOL TO MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE DONE THIS HOMEWORK! Sadly, due to the flood and the governmental closing of all schools, you will have to master the material yourself. We would have done activity stations, but, thanks to the equivalent of half a million Olympic-sized swimming pools of water on the ground, you will have to do the activity stations by yourself at home.
