Study Guide for Test #3: Stone Age Technology and Culture
- Know how to describe the process of flint knapping and know how to label the diagram: hammerstone, core, and flakes.
- Know how to assign the names AND USES of stone tools to Homo habilis (2 tools), Homo erectus (2 tools), Neanderthals (3 tools), and Homo sapiens / Cro-Magnons (4 tools) BUT you cannot use the same tool more than one, e.g., a scraper cannot be listed for both Neanderthals and Homo sapiens.
- Know all the information on Study Guide (Chapter 4, Lesson 2) “The Development of Culture”
- Study the parts of the Stone Age Timeline that you were told to focus on and be sure you know the order that the hominids appeared on the Earth. Remember what “The Great Leap” of circa 45,000 years ago was.
