HOMEWORK
ALL CLASSES: Come prepared for class and do your homework. Scroll down to find your class! Remember that YOU are responsible for recording all your homework in your red homework book. If–due to a busy schedule or problems with the internet–I do not post homework, YOU are the one who is still responsible for doing it.
Here are some homework coins for you to hand in if you do your homework:
Please note that I have deleted Weeks 1-10 to save space.
WEEK 11: The First Week after the October Holidays
Grade 6 (for Wednesday): Finish the last part of the page in pencil and then use a pen to do the reflection on the other side of the page. Make sure you get brown modeling clay by next week.
Grade 7 A (for Wednesday): Finish your study guide and do the BYZANTINE MOSAIC ART PROJECT. Make sure you follow my instructions!
Grade 7 B (for Wednesday): Finish your study guide for Wednesday and do the BYZANTINE MOSAIC ART PROJECT for Thursday (7B only). Make sure you follow my instructions!
Grade 6 (for the last class or the week): If you have lines, do them. Make sure you get BROWN modeling clay for the first class next week.
Grade 7 (for the last of the week): Make sure you know the Roman numerals!
Grade 6 (for the first class of next week): (1) Complete the paraphrasing exercise. Do not copy from your friends. Put things in your own words using a thesaurus, etc. thesaurus.com is a good website that might help you. (2) Bring BROWN clay to class next week!
Grade 7 (for MONDAY MORNING): Complete your study guide (Chapter 3, Lessons 1-2) in PEN for MONDAY MORNING! Make sure you can hand it to me right after the announcements are over.
WEEK 12
Grade 6 for your next class this week (6A = Tuesday and 6B = Wednesday): Make a CATAL HUYUK WEBSITE LOG on A4 lined paper by surfing the activities at http://www.smm.org/catal/. In other words, go to the website and do all of the following ACTIVITIES: play the games, read the comics by clicking on the different sections below and take the tours. But make sure you write point-form notes about what you saw, did and learned as you went along. You may have to download plugins that are free on the internet or just keep clicking on “continue on and try to load the Flash Activity” every time you need to. This is an amazing website so have fun with it!
Grade 7 for your next class this week (7A = Tuesday and 7B = Wednesday): Fill in the Study Guide (Chapter 3, Lesson 3 and Chapter 4, Skill Lesson). Matthew, make sure you fix your end notes and send me your new copy.
Grade 6 for your next class this week (6A = Thursday and 6B = Friday): CONTINUE making a CATAL HUYUK WEBSITE LOG on A4 lined paper by surfing the rest of the website at http://www.smm.org/catal/. In other words, go to the website and surf the rest of the site. But make sure you have finished all of the following ACTIVITIES: play the games, read the comics by clicking on the different sections below and take the tours. Again, finish surfing the rest of the website.
Grade 7 for your next class this week (7A = Thursday and 7B = Friday): Find good pictures to use on your 3-D Project.
Grade 6 for the first class of next week: Use a blue pen to finish the Catal Huyuk Study Guide. You may use a pencil to draw, but label in pen.
Grade 7 for the first class of next week: ISLAMIC DECORATION project. Follow my instructions, use the title I gave you, and produce a wonderful reproduction of Islamic decoration. AND send me the “final, final” copy of your essay. Remember that your future board / 3-D Project is due on November 20th!
WEEK 13
WEEK 12
I was sick on Monday and Tuesday. You were given homework by the supply teacher. For Grade 6, it was an essay about DAILY LIFE IN CATAL HUYUK. For Grade 7, you had to pick topics for your project in the second semester.
Grade 6 for your last class this week (6A = Thursday and 6B = Friday): Redo your point form notes IN BLACK PEN on your sheet that you did your original point form notes on of Chapter 5, Lesson 3. You do not have to start at the beginning–just continue from where we left off in class on Wednesday. Beth and Dhivesh need to do their oral presentations as soon as possible. The due date for them is Friday next week. If you have not done it by then, you will lose 20% of your final mark! This project is long overdue!
Grade 7 for your last class this week (7A = Thursday and 7B = Friday): Print out 3 sources for the life of Mohammad. Make sure you bring your point form notes from the video to class. We will be writing an essay about Mohammad’s life in the last class this week.
Grade 6 for your first class next week: Both Ga and 6B students must go to the front of my blog and do the homework for their first class next week. Go to the front of my blog to read what your homework is! Beth and Dhivesh need to do their oral presentations as soon as possible. The due date for them is Friday next week. If you have not done it by then, you will lose 20% of your final mark! This project is long overdue!
Grade 7 for your first class next week: Use words (English, Thai, Korean, etc.) to create a pictograph in the middle of an A4 sheet. Do not write anything else on it except your name in the bottom right corner. (You are doing something similar to what Moslems artists did–Pictorgraphic Caligraphy.)
